Group Study Exchange Program 2009

 

District 5320 & District 1840 - Bavaria

 

1. Group Study Exchange or GSE is a program of the RI Foundation and is a wonderful international program for clubs to participate in.

 

2. The program exchanges four young men and women business professionals between the ages of 25 & 40 between Rotary Districts in different countries.

 

3. For four amazing weeks, team members experience the host country's institutions and ways of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.

 

4. The RI Foundation provides round-trip air travel between the home and host countries for each Team Member and the Rotarian Team Leader.

 

5. Local Rotarians in the host district provide for meals, lodging, vocational visits and group travel within their district.

 

6. The purpose of the program is to promote world peace and understanding through the exchange of GSE teams.

 

7. The District 1840 team will be here from March 22 to April 18, 2009

 

8. The District 5320 team leaves for Bavaria on April 27, returning May 24, 2009.

 

9.      We (The DG and the GSE Chairs Tito Parola and Ken Montgomery) would like to have 5 to 6 clubs that would host the visitors in their homes.  These clubs will be the “Host Clubs”.

 

10.      We would like to have another 5 to 6 clubs that would show them the business and cultural sites in Orange County; these will be the “Concierge Clubs”.

 

11.      We would like clubs to apply to become “Host Clubs or Concierge Clubs by Oct 15^th.  The Concierge Clubs will be selected based on what ideas and access they have for interesting visits in their area of the District.

 

 

12.      Clubs can work together and submit a combined application for either Host Club responsibilities or Concierge Club duties.

 

13.       We are also looking for applications for Team Leader who will lead the team to Chile; Spanish language skills are highly desirable as is Rotary Experience.  See reverse side for more information.  The deadline for applications is Sept 15^th.

 

14.      The application deadline for Team Members is Oct. 31^st.
