Nine students competed at the Sycamore Plaza in Lakewood on May 3, 2008 for the District Speech Contest. All the students were truly exceptional speakers and the judges from Toastmsters had an extremely difficult time determining our four winners who gave their speeches at the Cavalcade of Excellence celebration at the DoubleTree Hotel in Orange.  All four winners received a check for $500.00 and a book titled "31 Tips to becoming an Effective Presenter."
